1.2 Life Size
Spring River Corridor Foundation (SRCF)
SRCF commissioned a series of five larger-than-life size monuments recognizing the various cultures contributing to the development of the city of Roswell. The figure of the "El Vaquero" represents an 1890's era Hispanic cowboy ready to rope a horse for the days' work. Ranching, cattle and sheep, were significant industries in southeastern New Mexico that advanced the expansion of Roswell.
