Bob was born, raised and died near Albany, TX. In his US Army military service as a tank commander, he saw combat action at Okinawa and the Phillipines. He was awarded a Silver Star and a Bronze Star for his “conspicuous bravery” in the Pacific Theater. After the war, he returned to Albany to run his ranch and raise his family. Late in life, he wrote a book, Okinawa Odyssey, which was the story about his journey from the ranch to Okinawa and back.
